Lake Erie · Lakeside, Ohio

Midweek reservation for a Lakeside Ohio hotel stay

From, for two$8004 nights, two sharing · $400 eachNot included: state and local lodging taxes and anything beyond the package's two gate passes.

Lakeside is a gated summer community on the Marblehead Peninsula in Ottawa County, and a pass is needed to go through the gate. This Lakeside Ohio hotel stay covers that: the hotel's package includes two adult four-day passes and car parking at the South Gate. We fit it to four nights between Sunday and Thursday and write one quote for you to read.

A private nonprofit runs the community and sells the gate passes in season. Inside the gate there is a long lakefront park, a dock and a summer program of lectures and concerts. Our office plans the stay at no charge to you, and the hotel pays us a commission after you leave.

Facing north across the lake

By our measure the Lakeside shore faces 355 degrees, which is north. On a July 15 morning the sun clears the horizon at 60 degrees, over the water and 64 degrees off to the right of looking straight out.

Evening is the stronger hour here. The sun goes down at 300 degrees, still over the lake, 55 degrees to the left. In our catalog that places this stay with the beaches where the summer sun sets over the water.

An old hotel with a long porch

The lodging is a historic lakefront hotel inside the gate, an old building with a long porch and a front desk of its own. We keep its name off this page; the written quote gives it, together with the room the hotel has open for your four nights.

Gate passes and South Gate parking included

From $800 for two, or $400 per person, covers 4 nights in a room for two at a working June figure taken from the package price on the hotel's website, with no nightly fee listed. The package's two adult four-day gate passes and South Gate parking sit inside it. State and local lodging taxes stay outside the figure, as does anything beyond those two passes.

Carried in the two-person figure

  • Four Sunday-to-Thursday nights for two in the hotel's package
  • Two adult four-day Lakeside gate passes, inside the package
  • South Gate car parking, inside the package
  • The written quote and the request to hold the room

Settled apart from it

  • State and local lodging tax, added by the hotel
  • Fuel and tolls on the drive
  • Meals and anything you buy on the trip

June and August, Sunday to Thursday

We plan this stay in June and in August, arriving on a Sunday and leaving on a Thursday. Midweek is the window our office works with here, and the figure uses a June rate. An August week can price higher or lower, and the quote replaces our number with the hotel's own.

Package, taxes and the hotel's terms

The quote names the hotel, the room and the 4 nights, and states the total for the room with the package inside. It lists the lodging taxes the hotel will add, any local charge beyond the package, and the hotel's own cancellation terms. You answer yes in writing, ask for a change, or let it go; nothing is held before that yes.

After your yes we ask the hotel to hold the room in your name. If the hotel wants a card to secure it, the hotel asks you directly. Each step is laid out on how our planning works.

Akron to the Marblehead Peninsula

The drive from Grant Street covers 98 miles, about 2 hr 4 min without traffic by a computed estimate. Real drives take longer. Bring your car to the South Gate, where the parking in the package applies.

Ask about four midweek nights

Tell us which June or August week suits you on the request form, which takes requests at any hour. We ask the hotel, then send one written quote with the gate passes already counted.
