Nags Head oceanfront motel, reserved at the end of the road
From, for two$7604 nights, two sharing · $380 eachNot included: state and local lodging taxes.
Our office plans a four-night stay at a Nags Head oceanfront motel on North Carolina's Outer Banks, a chain of barrier islands with tall sand dunes. Wooden crossovers carry you over the dunes to the beach, and beach access costs nothing. We ask the hotel about your nights first, then put everything in writing for you.
It is the longest drive in our catalog, and the stay is four nights long. You send a request at any hour, we read it, and we come back with a single quote. No reservation is in your name until a written yes comes back from you.

Morning sun straight off the ocean
The Nags Head shore faces 64 degrees, which is east northeast. On July 15 the sun comes up at 62 degrees, out over the water and only 2 degrees to the left of looking straight out. That puts this beach first among the morning beaches in our catalog.
Evenings work the other way. The sun sets at 298 degrees, which sits 126 degrees from straight out, off to your left along the shore rather than over the water. If a sunrise over the ocean is what you are after, this is the beach that puts it right in front of you.

Sign in and settle up at the motel
The lodging is an oceanfront motel with a desk of its own: you sign in there on arrival and settle the bill with the motel. This website never names the motel. Its name, the room and the nights all appear in the quote we write, so you can look it up before you decide.
September working rate, no added fee
Our working figure starts from $760 for two for 4 nights, which comes to $380 per person. It is built on a nightly rate of $190 for a room for two, the office's working figure for a September night, set from rates this motel carried on travel sites, with no extra nightly fee listed. State and local lodging taxes sit outside the figure, as do fuel, tolls, meals and anything optional. Your quote replaces it with the real rate for your dates, and how our figures are built explains the rounding.
Carried in the two-person figure
- 4 nights in a room for two at the office's working rate for that month
- Any resort or amenity fee the hotel charges every night
- The written quote and the request to hold the room
Settled apart from it
- State and local lodging tax, added by the hotel
- Fuel and tolls on the drive
- Meals and anything you buy on the trip
- Parking, where the hotel or the town charges for it

Any week from early summer to fall
We plan this stay from June to September. The working figure uses a September rate, so a June or August date can come back higher or lower once the hotel quotes it. Tell us your week and we ask about exactly those nights.
Motel name and terms before any hold
Before anything is held, the quote names the motel, the room and your four nights. It gives the room total with any fee the motel charges every guest folded in, lists the taxes the motel will add, and spells out the motel's own cancellation terms.
You reply yes in writing, ask for a change, or let it go. After a yes we ask the motel to hold the room in your name. It may ask you for a card to secure the room, and that stays between you and the motel.
Driving south from Grant Street
From our office on Grant Street in Akron, the drive to Nags Head is 589 miles, about 12 hr 13 min without traffic as computed by OSRM. Real drives take longer once stops and traffic are added, so plan the first day around the road.
Send us your Outer Banks week
Tell us which nights you want and how many are traveling. The form works at any hour, costs nothing and holds nothing, and you pay our office nothing for the planning. Start with the Outer Banks request form.
